Reading about your experience at the Abbey was very moving. I’m glad you went there and soaked it all up! Then the frames about the guy you asked for directions…..yikes!
Ah, the “talkers”. I had a few on my tours. They always seemed to materialize when it’s getting late and you really want to get somewhere. I’d usually listen for a few minutes, then politely try to disengage.
