Speaking of “Mark Trail” styled comics, for some reason I thought about “Gil Thorpe”, that boring sports comic that always found its way to whatever daily newspaper I read. Well, at least in Connecticut. I believe the artist(s) lived in the state, so that’s why. (Though “Robotman”, a comic I dug when I was in middle school, got axed by the local paper despite the artist living nearby.)
